Tips for your upcoming move out

At Mackie Properties, we understand that moving out of a rental property can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. We are committed to ensuring that our tenants have a smooth and hassle-free move-out process, while also helping them minimize any fines or penalties that may arise.  We strive to make the move-out process as effortless as possible, allowing tenants to focus on their next chapter.

So we've created some tips to help you with this transition.

Clean Thoroughly: Perform a comprehensive cleaning of the entire apartment. Pay attention to all areas, including floors, walls, windows, appliances, and fixtures. Remove any stains, dust, or grime. Don't forget about less noticeable areas like corners, baseboards, ceiling fans and vents.

Repair Damages: Inspect the apartment for any damages you are responsible for, such as holes in the walls, broken tiles, or damaged fixtures. Make necessary repairs or hire professionals to fix them. Restoring the apartment to its original condition is crucial to avoid fines.

Remove Personal Belongings: Ensure that you remove all personal belongings from the apartment and the grounds. Check every room, closet, and storage area to make sure nothing is left behind. Patio area as well.  Don't forget to check for items in the basement or attic and patio, if applicable.  Remove all trash inside and outside.

Ensure All Lightbulbs are Functioning: Check all light fixtures in the apartment and make sure that all lightbulbs are functioning properly. Replace any burnt-out bulbs to ensure the apartment is well-lit and in good working condition.

Utilities: Ensure that you contact your utility providers and terminate your services on the specified date mentioned in your lease agreement.
